Procedure to Apply for PAN Card and About:



HI, everyone! This article going to explain about "the Procedure of  Applying PAN Card". Most of us apply through any agent or with any other help, but its time to know the simple Procedure of applying for PAN card.

PAN - Permanent Account Number. 

About: PAN is a Ten digit Alpha-Numeric Code that will act as Identification of all Indians, particularly those who are paying Income tax. It is Issued by Indian Income Tax department under the Supervision of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) according to the Income Tax Act 1961. the main purpose of the PAN card is to get an Identification number for the financial Transaction and to prevent Tax Evasion.


Scenario: PAN card is the must in all such Financial Transactions such as Opening Bank account, Taxable salary Receiving, Business profit, Purchasing with the higher limit and so. on., the Importance of this card goes higher, everyone applying for it more. formerly it was Obtained through any Middlemen probably be a Chartered Accountant, now it is easy to apply via Online since the demand is more. 

How to Apply: 

1. First Visit the Website of Income Tax PAN Services Unit. link to Visit the Unit is  https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/





2. Above picture is the Home page of PAN services unit. Home Page Consists of Options like Apply Online and Registered user. Select the Option "Apply Online".

3. After you have given the Option "Apply Online", there is an Option Called "Application Type". Since we are going to Apply for New PAN, select the Option "New Pan (Indian Citizen) Form 49A".

4. Fill all the Details in the Form and Submit it Online. Then it will show a 15 digit Acknowledgement Number. you should save the Acknowledgement and take a printout of that form for further process.

5. You need to send this form to Income Tax department with Necessary Documents. Document Includes the Proof of Identity and Proof of Identification (any address Proof and ID proof). 

6. Your "Two" recent Photograph needs to be affixed in the Acknowledgement form in the Applicable spaces. The same Photo will be displayed on your PAN card. Sign the form wherever it is necessary.

7. Next step is Payment Step. the Processing fee of this PAN card is Rs.107.00 ( Rs. 93.00 + 15.00% service tax) if the user is in INDIA. you can make the Payment by one of the methods called Debit Card, Internet Banking, Credit Card, Cheque or demand Draft. If the User is outside of India, then they need to proceed with the Payment of Rs. 994.00[ (Application fee Rs. 93.00 + Dispatch Charges Rs. 771.00) + 15.00% service tax]. Payment can be made only by way of Credit Card / Debit card and Demand Draft payable at Mumbai.

8. If the Payment is made by debit Card or credit Card or Internet Banking, then the acknowledgement of this Payment should be attached with the Acknowledgement Application form. If the payment is Done with DD or Cheque, then the Concern Document should be attached with the Acknowledgement Application Form.
9. Finally, your Acknowledgement form should Posses your address Proof, ID Proof, Payment receipt and Photographs in specified place. Send this Document to NSDL in Pune within 15 days of Online application Date. The Envelope must be written with "APPLICATION for PAN - (Acknowledgement Number)". The address of NSDL is

  2. PAN stands for Permanent Account Number. It is ten digit alpha numeric number issued by the income tax department. It is mandatory to have a PAN if you are undertaking financial transactions like receiving salary, professional fee and sale or purchase of assets bove specified limits. It is also mandatory for businesses to have a PAN card if their turnover or gross recepit exceeded 5 lakhs in the previous financial year.
